Blue Star Plaque Dedication

On November 11th, scouts from Pack and Troop 173 were invited to participate in the dedication of a Blue Star Memorial at Patriot garden in Yorktown. The marker highlights a millstone that dates back to the Revolutionary War and was originally located at a farm owned by a veteran of that war. At the ceremony scouts led the Pledge of Allegiance and unveiled the Memorial in front of about 20 local veterans and dignitaries. Members of the chorus at St. Patrick’s sang America the Beautiful. Afterwards, the scouts had the opportunity to personally thank each veteran for their service.
