Adult Leader Portal

The resources on this page are specific to registered adult leaders of Troop 173. It is important that all leaders be familiar with the resources on other sections of this website, and help scouts familiarize themselves with and utilize those other resources.

Through MyScouting, adult leaders could access the BSA Training Center, which includes your up-to-date training dashboard. Youth Protection Training (YPT) MUST be completed for ANY ADULT attending troop events. Registered leaders should complete all position-specific Scouts BSA training. Upon completing the training, be sure to download your certificate and sync your training with your Scoutbook profile. If your Scoutbook profile does not automatically sync to show 100% training completion, manually check off the training modules and upload your certificate downloaded from the training center on MyScouting.

Scoutbook is the BSA’s online database in which each scout and leader has his or her own individual profile. It is an effective tool of tracking leadership roles, camping, hiking or service logs, and rank advancement for scouts. Additionally, it is used to track the training progress for adult leaders. Assistant Scoutmasters have jurisdiction over the profiles of scouts in their patrols, and should keep track of their scouts’ progress on rank advancement. As requirements are signed off on, ASMs should also then check-off and certify those requirements on the scout’s Scoutbook profile. Additionally, both scouts and leaders could use Scoutbook as an easy method of email communication with your patrol roster. When an adult contacts a scout through Scoutbook, a parent or guardian is automatically included on the email.
