Memorial Day Parade 2018

This year, Troop 173 continued our annual participation in the Yorktown Memorial Day Parade. Over 20 of our scouts and 10 leaders gathered on Front Street and marched up to the Jack DeVito Memorial Field to honor those who died serving in our country’s armed forces. On Saturday, 5/4, Troop 173 held the New Scout Campout. This campout is geared towards helping the newest scouts in the troop earn requirements for their ranks. Two Scouts Achieve The Ad Altare Dei Religious Award

Recently, two of our senior scouts, Ryan and Andrew, earned the religious award ‘Ad Altare Dei’. This award is specific to the Roman Catholic faith, however, similar awards for many other religions exist with similar requirements specific to each faith. Troop 173 Court of Honor

On Monday, February 26th, Troop 173 had its first Court of Honor in 2018! Our scouts earned a total of 16 merit badges and 11 rank advancements. 4 scouts received their Tenderfoot rank, 4 others received their Second class Achievement.
