Rocket Night

Our troop meeting on Monday, June 3rd at 7:30pm will be our annual rocket night. Scouts are encouraged to bring an assembled model rocket (size “A” or “B” engines only!). Troop 173 has a long history of attending Curtis S. Read Scout Reservation. Our scouts learn new skills and have a great time bonding as a unit and with other scouts. Troop 173 Goes to Boston!

On April 12th, Troop 173 and their families went up to Boston for the weekend. We camped at the New England Base Camp. On Friday we headed in to visit the John F. St. Patrick’s Nativity Setup and Takedown

Every year the Troop helps support St. Patrick’s Church, our charter organization, by setting up and taking down the Christmas Nativity. 2019 Northern Districts Klondike

This past weekend, a handful of our scouts braved the weather to attend a campout at Durland and participate in the 2019 Klondike. The scouts used a handmade backpack containing the tools they needed to compete against other troops in several scout skill challenges. Advancement Day

On Saturday, December 8th, many of our scouts got together at the Stone Church to work on (or help others work on) rank advancement skills. Fall Court of Honor

Troop 173 scouts and families gathered on Monday, October 29th to celebrate our Fall Court of Honor. 5 of our scouts advanced to the Tenderfoot rank, having learned some basic first aid skills and how to tie knots and improving their physical fitness. 2 scouts earned the rank of Second Class.
