Halloween Shootout Campout at Ten Mile River Scout Campground

This past weekend, October 15th and 16th, our Scouts participated in the Halloween Shootout camping event at Ten Mile River. Over a dozen troops from the tri-state area participated in a day of activities which included various firearms, archery and axe throwing, followed by a celebratory banquet. Eagle Scout Project Dedication at the Yorktown VFW

On Sunday, October 9th, Veterans from Yorktown VFW Post #8328 gathered along with Scouts from Troop 173 to hold a dedication ceremony for their new fire pit, which was designed and installed thanks to the hard work of our scouts and friends. Troop 173 at Fright Fest – Six Flags New England!

This past Saturday, 10 scouts and their families spent the day at Six Flags New England, including a behind the scenes tour of Superman – the acclaimed roller-coaster which includes a 213 foot drop and reaches speeds in excess of 77mph! Kick-off Campout at Durland!

On the weekend of September 17th, our scouts kicked off the new scouting year with the first campout of the season! The Troop held our annual fall car wash this past Sunday, and despite the weather we had a lot of fun helping our community out with this great fundraiser. Pitch in for Parks Wrap-up

On April 24th, Troop 173 went to Blue Mountain Reservation to help out with Pitch in for Parks. Scouts and leaders helped out by clearing up fallen branches, placing tree tubes, and removing barberry from a hiking trail. Nooteeming Campout – March 19, 2021
