On October 28th, Troop 173 held our fall Court of Honor. In addition to awarding nearly 100 merit badges and 14 rank advancements, Troop m173 ASM Harry Zhou received his Wood Badge Beads as part of the ceremony.
For the first campout of the new scouting season, the Troop stayed for our first time at BSA Camp Bullowa in Rockland County. We stayed from Friday through Sunday and on Saturday we took a tour of nearby Stony Point Battlefield State Historic Site.
Every year, we enjoy a week up at the Curtis S. Read Scout Reservation. On April 12th, Troop 173 and their families went up to Boston for the weekend. We camped at the New England Base Camp. On Friday we headed in to visit the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum, followed by a trip to Fenway Park to see the Red Sox take on the Baltimore Orioles.… Read more
Every year the Troop helps support St. Patrick’s Church, our charter organization, by setting up and taking down the Christmas Nativity. This past weekend, a handful of our scouts braved the weather to attend a campout at Durland and participate in the 2019 Klondike. The scouts used a handmade backpack containing the tools they needed to compete against other troops in several scout skill challenges. On October 13th, the Westchester Putnam Council held the annual Thunderbird Games, and once again Troop 173 helped provide a fun friendly event for Cub Scouts across the region. We want to thank all of the Scouts, leaders and parents who helped make our station successful!
