Announcing Troop 173 Merit Badge Workshops

As we mentioned a few weeks ago, we are moving forward with putting together several online Merit Badge Workshops. These workshops will be multiple day classes designed to foster a cooperative learning experience.

Each workshop will be conducted using Google Meet. Scouts should be prepared by reading the pamphlets for the merit badge ahead of time, plus having any other pre-requisites completed ahead of the meetings. If you need a pamphlet, our Troop Librarian can be contacted to arrange for you to be able to pick them up. Online Merit Badge pamphlets are now available through Amazon as well, and can be viewed online, on smartphone, tablet, or Kindle devices.

The Law Merit Badge Class is filled to capacity.

We are also in the process of setting up Workshops for Art (Mr. Compton) and Disabilities Awareness (Mrs. Henkin) and we will have more details on these workshops available soon. Mr. Cartaya has also offered Personal Fitness virtually if there is interest. Please email advancement@troop173-yorktown.org if you are interested in these courses.

We are continuing to seek out counselors for other offerings as well so stay tuned!

Expanded List of BSA Councils offering Virtual Merit Badge Classes

We continue to learn about more organizations offering merit badge classes and are happy to share them with you. As always, please check in often as new classes are added frequently.
